Barrington Boosters, in conjunction with the Bristol Elks, is sponsoring
FLY On Eagles Wings 5K and two-mile walk. Proceeds will go toward
scholarships in Barrington, Bristol, and Warren. Additional proceeds will
benefit the sports programs at Barrington Middle School and Barrington High School.

Building on the anticipated success this year, we hope to have the race become
a much-anticipated community event, with the goal to upgrade the schools athletic
fields to synthetic surfaces in the near future.

All middle and high school track and cross country teams are invited.

  5K COURSE :

The 5K, USATF certified by Ray Nelson, features a rolling residential course with views of the
Rhode Island Country Club and Narragansett Bay. Walkers follow a two-mile out and back course.

Timing and scoring are provided by Organization Plus.

Starting at Barrington Middle School, 5K runners will head south on Middle Highway, turn right on
Nayatt Road, north on Washington Road, right on South Lake Drive, and finish back at the middle school.

 

  AWARDS:

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female overall finisher receive $100, $75, and $50, respectively, plus
a pick at the raffle table.

The top male and female High School and Middle School teams based on the aggregate time of the top
three members receive $50, plus each team member receives a pick at the raffle table.

Awards will also be given in these divisions:

  • Junior (18 and under)
  • Open (19-39)
  • Masters (40-49)
  • Seniors (50-59)
  • Veterans (60-69)
  • Grand Veterans (70+)
    (No duplicate awards.)

Bring your old running shoes to be recycled! For every pair of shoes
donated you will receive a ticket for a special raffle!

Post-race fun:
Enjoy music by a professional DJ and delicious food graciously donated by
Blount Seafood. There will also be a raffle for all those who run and walk.
